Kamindu Mendis is an exciting Sri Lankan all-rounder known for his ambidextrous bowling ability. He can switch between right-arm off-spin and left-arm orthodox spin - a rare skill that allows captains to use him strategically against both right-handed and left-handed batters. Mendis first rose to prominence for his bowling versatility but quickly gained attention for his impressive batting performances at the international level. The young left-hander made waves by matching Don Bradman's record of reaching 1000 Test runs in just 13 innings. Consequently, Sunrisers Hyderabad drafted him into their squad in the TATA IPL 2025 Mega Auction for INR 75 Lakh. He featured in five games and has been retained by SRH for the 2026 season. A key member of Sri Lanka’s squads across formats, Mendis’ one-handed diving stunner of a catch in SRH’s game against Chennai Super Kings last season goes down as one of the greatest grabs in IPL history.
